Castrol India Limited is a lubricant company based in India. The Company operates in two business segments: automotive and non-automotive. During the year ended December 31, 2005, Castrol India Limited relaunched its Masterbrand. During 2005, in the 4-stroke motorcycle oils market, the Company introduced Castrol`s internationally developed Trizone Technology into its offerings of 4-stroke engine oils, Activ and Power 1. Its principal brand in the automotive segment was relaunched with extreme temperature protection (ETP) formulation, which offers longer engine life for Turbo charged engines. The Company`s subsidiary Indrol Chemicals & Specialities Private Limited (Indrol) had resolved to put the company in voluntary winding up. Indrol was dissolved with effect from April 28, 2005, by an order of the Bombay High Court.
