The value and price of silver varies depending on various factors. Some of these factors are:
A primary factor affecting the price of silver is the available supply versus fabrication demand. In recent years, fabrication demand has greatly outpaced mine production forcing market participants to draw down existing stocks to meet demand. As these available sources continue to decline, silver's fundamentals continue to strengthen. However, since silver is a tangible asset, and is recognized as a store of value, its price can also be affected by changes in things such as inflation (real or perceived), changing values of paper currencies, and fluctuations in deficits and interest rates.

Silver has confirmed our negative view and sold off after breaking trend support around 10.84. We now look for support around the 50-day moving average at 10.00, but would recommend playing intraday moves to the short side for the next few sessions as silver’s propensity to sell off has seen negative runs holding for at least five to six days. The gold/silver ration has spiked to 81.64, its highest level since December 1st.
